Bringing HOPE to Girls in Kenya

HOPE through education.

In Kenya, girls’ education is still marginalized. Only 18% of Kenyan women (ages 25+) have completed secondary education or the US equivalent of high school and almost 50% of the female youth (ages 15-24) are considered illiterate. Most girls in Kenya, particularly more rural areas, do not complete school due to poverty, early marriages, lack of mentorship, early pregnancy, and other socio-economic factors.

HOPE Academy is dedicated to breaking barriers for low-income girls by offering complimentary computer education focused on programming and trade skills. This initiative not only boosts computer literacy but also opens doors to economic opportunities.

By equipping young women with vital skills, HOPE Academy cultivates personal growth and self-sufficiency, empowering them to navigate their career paths with confidence.

The program emphasizes diversity and inclusivity within the technology and trades sectors, contributing positively to the personal and financial circumstances of participants.
